The Parent & Child Emotional Survival Toolkit

As part of the Center for the Improvement of Child Caring’s efforts to assist parents and families during the coronavirus, CICC is herein connecting you to an extraordinary resource called The Parent & Child Emotional Survival Toolkit

The EQuip Our Kids! Survival Kit consists of some of the best and mostly free and enjoyable resources online.

It includes videos, games, apps and written guides.

They are for both parents and for children. Their purpose is to help deal with emotional and psychological reactions to home confinement, money struggles and fears of the future.

Many are geared to the specific ages of the children, from infancy through the teenage years. They are from many different credible organizations and have been reviewed and approved by child development and parenting experts.

A Virtual Effective Black Parenting Instructor Training Workshop – August 17-21, 2020

The Center for the Improvement of Child Caring (CICC) is proud to announce that it is offering, on the week of August 17-21, 2020, a Virtual Workshop to prepare people to deliver classes in its Effective Black Parenting Program.

This Workshop will use the newly Updated Version of this National Training Model Skill-Building Program.

The 5-Day Workshop is co-sponsored by the D.C. Children’s Trust Fund.

2) WHAT YOU GET: 5 Days of Professional Training, a recently updated Complete Instructor’s Kit that contains the materials needed to run Classes, and Certification to conduct Classes.

3) WORKSHOP LEADER: Ruth M. Rich, M.A. (who has conducted numerous Parenting Classes and Instructor Workshops)

“Get Home Safely” Rules When Encountering Police & Dr. Alvy on ABC7 TV Re: FREE Parenting Guides

Because encounters with police have brought police brutality and racism as their own Viruses, CICC is republishing practical Rules for Getting Home Safely. These rules are designed to insure that children and youth and anyone else who is stopped by police “get home safely.”

In addition to the English version, CICC also has a Spanish version, Llegar A Casa Seguro.

The 10 rules were initially developed by the Children’s Defense Fund.
